Our client requested our team to design pixel hotels that give their guests the experience of Brisbane history. The hotel, At the Tower, fulfils the client’s requests through hyper reality. The notion of hyper reality and the experience the hotel brings, has been displayed through the interior elements. The pixel hotel uses a range of principles and elements of design. Colour, scale and proportion are the main principle and elements that allow the guests to experience Brisbane history. The wall and floor colours are the main attraction of the rooms, followed by the furniture. These interior elements help fulfill our clients request of creating a ‘historical’ hotel. The renders are examples of what the rooms will look like with the sun shining on the walls. However, the material board provided will display the colours the client chose. The hotel is designed to make a person feel as they are surrounded by history through the heigh ceilings. Our team was inspired to include this principle as the greatest historical structures use scale and proportion. The hotel has a scattered composition; however, people are easily able to flow through the area as the space is open and arranged with lots of walking space.
